“What’s in my bag?” is a classic lifestyle blogger post-and, as it was voted for over on my Instagram page, that’s exactly what today’s post is!
This is The Olivia from Mia Tui, a brand that prides itself on the functionality of its products, in cornflower blue. (Even if it does look more purple to me!) Anyway, it’s on special offer at the moment, and I recently posted about how the many pockets and added extras are such a wonderful thing. Jenna Farmer also posted about her Mia Tui bag, describing it as “The Ultimate Freelance Handbag.”
The main currency of my handbag:
That sounds odd, doesn’t it? But if you were to look inside my handbag, it has a lot of paper. As in, pretty much everything in it is paper based!
That’s a grand total of three notebooks! From left to right, my jotter (for story ideas, trackers, notes, drafts), my shorthand notebook (to practice for the 100 wpm exam!) and my ever-so-trusty Filofax. I’d be lost without it. The emphasis on stationery makes my life easier, really. (Just a tip: these notebooks from Pukka Pads are wonderful for taking shorthand!)
The contents of my bag:
Mia Tui has two clutches-one see-through, one to match the bag-with every bag it sells. As you can see, I use the see-through one as an overly-stuffed pencil case. (And it mainly consists of shorthand stationery!) The letter is one I have yet to post to my Dutch pen-pal. (I will by the time this goes live. Promise.)
And… cosmetics! (Of sorts.) This is the other clutch bag, and it’s a purse and make up bag all in one. Along with a black eyeliner from NYX (buy it from ASOS here), a teeny tiny perfume (Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker) and some kind of paw paw product (one of my favourites is Doctor Paw Paw), this contains all much cards, small amounts of change, painkillers and my train tickets and press accreditation.
I also have an extra spray in my bag. With this heat, I find it very hard to stay cool. (Sensory issues and all that.) This as a gift from Superdrug (I think?) and it’s so useful. Minimalistic, right? Left to right: Superdrug spray, tissues (hello Hayfever and meltdowns!), Paw Paw lip balm, Lovely perfume, and NYX eyeliner.
What’s not shown?
NCTJ textbooks and notebooks.. Currently I’m studying Production, which is all about putting together magazines and newspapers. I have a huge notebook with all the shortcuts and “how tos”-along with a zillion pages of copy I’ve edited. Somedays I also have a book and headphones for train travel.
Handbags are always something that interest me-and they have for a long time. (It’s even why I ask about them in interviews! And I think this originated from a Glamour magazine feature.) There’ll be one more post about Mia Tui; until then,
Disclaimer: I was gifted the bag in this post by Mia Tui, at my own request, for a review. This post contains much honest opinion; find out more by visiting my disclaimer.
