Update: since this post was published, I have learnt that you can personalise your subscription when you sign up, by leaving notes. Prices start from £12.99, and increase with the bigger/more deluxe package you wish to buy.
Disclaimer: this post contains a PR sample that I was gifted at my own request. What follows is my own opinion.
Now: today’s post is going to be a bit of a departure from what it usually is. (And as a note to some relatives; I’m sorry about what you’re going to read, but I was gifted something beautiful; please don’t be shocked or cross. You don’t have to follow this blog…)
A little while ago I wrote this post about how to feel powerful (Click here to view); for women, one of the things that I think should be on there, is just, *blushes*, some nice underwear. Because if it makes you feel good, your confidence is better, and by proxy you look good, right?! And according to one blogger, who is a little bit older than me, it’s almost like a female secret code; click here to see that post. To see a similar post, please click here. Anyway…
Project Lingerie is a subscription box; you can buy a one off, monthly, etc. There’s also different sorts of packages you can buy:
- Basics: Your basic knickers! And the photo on the website of what it could be is so pretty… As it says, it’s your basic knickers.
- Pretty everyday: Again a pair of knickers, but with seemingly more embellishment.
- Deluxe: A piece or set of Lingerie.
I love the packaging. The postman does not. Left behind my wheelie bit, it was a bit bashed in, which did make me feel a little bit narked; it doesn’t take a great deal of energy to ensure my parcel arrives in a good state! The rain had not helped either. However, I was pleasantly surprised by what was inside; I also loved the discreet branding on the layers inside.
The layers rustled, complete with a cream ribbon, beneath which was the set I had been gifted; there was not a jot of plastic packaging in sight, which was a relief! (It is an unpleasant sound for my sensory issues.)
It’s very rare to get a “we wish to make women feel good about themselves” ethos, isn’t it? As a younger teenager, I found it alenating to go into a clothes shop, complete with aloof looking models, who were skinny (obviously, being made of China), and flossy looking things that were miles away from what I would wear.
Project Lingerie changes that.
They want me to feel good about myself?! What a great thing to aspire to!
I also really liked the extra that was in the October box; because, I was hungry on feverishly opening, and there were two bags of Haribo in the box. My sister got one, I had the other.. We munched companionably for several minutes.
The product itself:
If you have a girlfriend who is on Spectrum, I think that this would be a perfect gift for her. The material is so soft-and it doesn’t itch, nor does it play up to a potential sensory issue. You may have to cut a label out-like with most clothing-and adjust a strap, but this is so worth the while to gift someone, or to subscribe for yourself.
I would have preferred it to have a bit more coverage, if I’m honest; this is not what I would usually wear. (And fussing about with straps etc is not always my favourite thing to be doing…)
