* A little while ago, an email arrived in my inbox; I was asked to review the CAKE app. Being a foodie, I said yes! What follows is my honest opinion.
I guess I should have planned better in the end; Southern had delayed various trains, meaning I got on the wrong one, and was nearly half an hour/forty five minutes late for my lunch reservation..
Hallys is a small restaurant-not a cafe or a bar-situated in what is a fairly busy part of London; there isn’t a lot of cars, etc-not being near a main road as such, or central London-but there are quite a lot of people. Armed with ,y trusty iPHONE and the CAKE app downloaded and open, I was ready for lunch.
What I really like about the Cake app is the design as well as its branding; the logo is everywhere, the purple stands out.. It is also really easy to navigate. Virtually everything is within a ‘distance’ of, say, two clicks. And the photography is so ascetically pleasing! I also really like that the app is seemingly more personal in terms of its interface; there’s recommendations, need-to-knows, and more. Fab!
The app in use:
As soon as you said how you wished to pay, the staff immediately knew what you were trying to do; which was awesome! As soon as you reach your location-and reservations can be taken via the app-you open the tab, they key in the balance, and you pay either by the card that’s connected, or credit you’ve earned back to again spend at these restaurants.
I took my Mother out to lunch; these are just a few photos of what we had.
This was a fabulous place to eat, and I would definitely come again; the food was quick to come, well cooked, tasty. Couldn’t fault it really. (Maybe just a bit busy at points-but with the Holiday, it will be.) This burger was MASSIVE ; consequently, I felt almost like a snake, having to unhinge my jaw. There could have maybe have been a little less spice in its sauce-as there was a lot of it.
Cake is an app that every Londoner should have; I also really like how it has more of a ‘human’ face to it, rather than the complexity of other apps. I also really enjoyed my meal out; after having a bit of a meltdown, it felt so good to be stuffed to the brim. For improvements, it could have a ‘By landmark’ section; so, if you’re visiting a tourist attraction, you can see where to go. This app also needs to be expanded to fit all of the UK; I’m gutted I can’t use it where I live!
